Our Mission

Speech Language Lab's mission is “Nurturing Intelligence and Emotions ” as the two work together to create a better future for our loved ones. Therefore we are working closely based on the MOE Primary School Curriculum which is based on knowledge skills seeking to develop students’ thinking, processing and communication skills. This will enable students to analyse and use information and to be able to express their thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively. It comprises skills based subjects.


Speech Language Lab focuses on giving the participants the opportunity to develop their soft skills, especially in the art of conversation, confidence building and further cultivation of “thinking out-of-the-box”. There is only one opportunity to leave a lasting impression and the importance of soft skills will not only enhance the participants’ learning ability but also improve their personal and professional life.

At Speech Language Lab, we have taken all different learning abilities and formulated a teaching system to enhance all participants to be able to get out of their comfort zone, building up their confidence, presentation skills and the ability to “think out-of-the-box”. 

Business Activities

Speech Language Lab is a training company that conducts speech courses, workshops and classes. Our main focus is to offer our services to primary schools, secondary schools, working adults and members of the public who are keen to improve themselves. We have implemented a new course that  mainly uses blocks and parts to enhance each individual’s curiosity and having a good adventure. Our courses can be conducted at your training premise or within our own training centres.

Our Trainers

Mike Griffiths is originally from Melbourne, Australia but has been living in Singapore since 2006.  He specializes in English and Presentation Skills.


Mike holds a Bachelor of Business from RMIT and a Bachelor of Arts from Deakin University.

Ms. Mirabai Bhana

Ms. Mirabai Bhana is a certified practitioner in Creative Art and Therapeutic Play Skills. She also has post-graduate qualifications in Play Therapy, Filial Coaching and Mentoring certified by the UK Academy of Play and Child Psychotherapy.

Bhana is also a professional counsellor and trainer of Family Counselling with Satir Institute of the Pacific in Canada.


Bhana had established the Jakarta Play Therapy Center in partnership with an NGO for children with disabilities and special needs. She has strong experience in the management and delivery of Therapeutic Play to special needs children, children with learning difficulties, children with disabilities, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and victims of abuse. She was appointed by the Indonesian Association of Play Therapy (PTI) to provide specialist management of first cases of sexual abuse referred by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission in Jakarta.

Debra has taught at Temasek Polytechnic, and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in History, Research, Fashion Forecasting and Creative Thinking bringing creativity to the youth.

She also has over 30 years of extensive experience in design and merchant designing in the fashion industry, working with Jagger’s, Baccarat and Chanel in Australia. She has gained accolades when she worked with the former Singapore Broadcasting Corporation as a costume designer and coordinator of sponsorships and has designed costumes for ballets like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty and the National Day Parades and Chingay for Singapore. She further represented Singapore at the Annual Pret-a-Porte in Paris in 1986.
